Rain Delays

Although I love fall in the Midwest, it does make it hard to plan anything outdoors. I was super excited about a session I had planned with a little boy, his mom, and his grandma yesterday but hurricane force winds, torrential downpours and subzero temperatures prevented us from making photo history. Alright, alright...so it was a little gusty, a little rainy and 60 degrees, but still not good enough for kick *ss photos. Hopefully we can reschedule soon!

So, in lieu of showing off those images, I'm going to post some pictures of Lydia. These were all taken on her third birthday in our yard. Those of you that know her know that it is impossible to get her to look at the camera. It takes bribery, butterflies and flat out lies to get her stay in one spot long enough to focus the lens. These are nothing short of a miracle.

Enjoy!

Saturday Madness

As many of you are gathering with your friends, having some beer and watching college football, I am sitting in the doorway watching my neighbors unload their arsenal of annoyance. I suppose it's time to settle in for a night of horrible hair bands, drunken philosophy, and overtired kids. I guess some people are just born to rock in their driveways at midnight.

Here is my new self portrait that I have titled, "Getting Ready to Slash Someone's Tires".

Portfolio Viewing

For my first post (yay!), I'm pointing everyone to my online portfolio at http://www.onthebay.carbonmade.com/. Here you can view a small sampling of some of my recent work. I have a few projects in the works and will be blogging about those soon!

I have not officially launched On the Bay yet, but I am currently scheduling portfolio-building sessions. I'm not charging sittings fees and I'm letting prints go at cost. Meaning, you pay what I pay and not a penny more. This is all in exchange for your permission to use the images in my portfolio. If you are interested in scheduling one of these sessions, send me an email (jlroberts09@yahoo.com) and we'll get it all worked out.

I'll leave you with one of my favorite images thus far. This is my cousin, Alex. She and I spent some time in Ann Arbor over the summer playing around with some artsy shots. As you can see, the camera loves her. More of the images we created together be found in my portfolio. I hope you can take a look!

Time to crack open a drink, slip into the sweats, and indulge in some Keith Olbermann and Rachael Maddow. It doesn't get much better than that.

Peace!
